Frank Joseph Leon, Jr.

KEITHVILLE, LA -- A funeral Mass for Frank Joseph (Buddy) Leon, Jr., 72, will be said at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Stonewall, Louisiana with Father Phil Michiels officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

Frank was born March 13, 1941 to Frank and Irma Leon. Our Heavenly Father embraced Frank September 29, 2013 and saved him from the debilitating disease of lung cancer. He was the owner and operator of Leon's Drywall & Painting for over 45 years. One of his most recognized projects included restoration of the steeple for the First United Methodist Church at the head of Texas Avenue in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana. Some of Frank's hobbies included building and racing cars, gardening, fishing, boating and the love of motorcycles. He was a lover of the outdoors and nature. Most importantly he lived by example in Faith, Love and Commitment to family. Loving family and friends by spending time with the ones he loved was one of his most beloved past times.

Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Leon. He leaves behind his loving wife, caretaker and best friend of 55 years, Sherrie Emmons Leon. Also survived by his daughters, Becki Reneé Leon and fiancé George Pappas, Amie Leon Lee and husband, Ronnie; grandchildren, Bailey Reneé Garza and husband, Tony, Morgan Noelle Massey and Anna Claire Lee; great-granddaughter, Gabriella Grace Garza; sister, Mary Ann Heim; brother, Stephen Anthony Leon and wife, Glenda; mother-in-law, Cametta Noel Emmons; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Lee, George Pappas, Tony Garza, Eric Massey, Karl Leon and James Leon.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Willis Knighton Cancer Center and to Dr. Veluvolu.

Memorials may be made to St. Ann's Catholic Church in Stonewall, Louisiana.
