Frank K. Boykin Sr.

Frank Kermit Boykin Sr., 68, of Centreville, died there Jan. 14, 2010, at Field Memorial Community Hospital.

Visitation is 6 to 8 tonight at Newman Funeral Home in Centreville, then 10 a.m. Saturday at Centreville Baptist Church until services there at 11 a.m. Dr. Dennis Johnsey will officiate, and burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Mr. Boykin was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Crosby. He was the son of the late Brance Elwood and Vassar Dawson Boykin.

He was retired from Crown Vantage Paper Mill in St. Francisville, La., and had lived in Centreville for 47 years. He was a member of Centreville Baptist Church, and he loved woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Smiley Boykin of Centreville; two sons, Frank Kermit ``Kermie'' Boykin Jr. and his fianceé Karen Collins of Natchez, and Kenny Boykin and wife Lori of Centreville; six sisters, Mary Carol Bonch [sic Bonck] of Central, La., Retha Toney of Gloster, Linda Freeman of Jonesboro, La., Veronica Plaisance of Ferriday, La., Scarlet Collier of Greensburg, La., and Terry Boykin of Zachary, La.; three brothers, L.H. Boykin of Crosby, Gavin Boykin of Gloster and Jerry Boykin of Natchez; six grandchildren, Steven, Matthew, Audrey, Jeffery, Justin and Hunter Boykin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Havard, Leroy Wheeler, Richard Earl Ash, Jeff McDaniels, Elliot ``Speedy'' Cavin Jr. and Carl D'Aquilla.

Honorary pallbearers are his nephews.
