Frank D. Murrell

Frank D. Murrell was born in Herbert, La. in 1933. He was a resident of Meridian for approximately 40 years. Mr. Murrell, 78, died Monday, August 6, 2012, while in the care of Advantage of Hospice (Bethany House of Madden), and Baptist Medical Center of Carthage. He was a retired Petty Officer First Class with the U.S. Navy and retired from the City of Meridian. He also worked for Norfolk Railroad Company. Mr. Murrell was a member of Christ Community Church on Hwy 39 North in Meridian. He donated his body to the Body Donation Program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Upchurch Murrell; three step-children: Marion Lee (Butch) Upchurch Jr., Reggie Upchurch, and DeLisa Upchurch; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Nelda Dubay; one brother, Donnie Murrell; and, many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
