Frannon “Curley” Hosey Dykes, Sr.
(September 23, 1923 - April 13, 2012)

Funeral services for Mr. Frannon “Curley” Dykes, Sr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville with Bill Nettles and Randy Stephens officiating. Interment will be in Dry Prong Cemetery, Dry Prong, Louisiana, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Mr. Dykes, age 88, of Dry Prong, entered eternal rest on Friday, April 13, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in Kentucky, on September 23, 1923 to Carrie Warren Dykes and Julius Benjamin Dykes, Sr. He was a faithful Christian and a member of the Bentley Church of Christ. He served in the Air Force during WWII as an airplane mechanic in England. Afterwards, he worked on many construction jobs as a pipe fitter in several different states until 1955 when he went to work for Trunkline Gas Company in Pollock, where he retired. He was an avid fisherman and loved gardening.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Carrie Dykes; one daughter, Geraldine Dykes Nettles; one brother, Julius Benjamin Dykes, Jr.; one sister, Arma Dykes Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife, Leddie Pace Dykes; one son, Frannon H. (Bubba) Dykes, Jr. of Dry Prong; three daughters, Carrie Crenshaw and husband Tommy of Greenwood, South Carolina, Janice Martin and husband Don of Dry Prong, Clarice Hales and husband LC of Dry Prong; one sister, Bonnie Dumas of Sterlington, Louisiana; special nephew and his wife, Wayne and Marsha Pace of Prairieville, Louisiana; son-in-law, Bill Nettles; eleven grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Monday, April 16, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
