Fred Bowen, 46, Succumbs Here

Fred Bowen, 46, of 2933 Amelia died at 3:40 p.m. Friday in Veterans Hospital following a lengthy illness.

A resident of Shreveport for eight years, he was born in Jonesboro.

Mr. Bowen was the owner of Bowen's Grocery on the Mansfield Road.

Survivors include his widow; two sons, Fred Bowen Jr. and Eddie Bowen, both of Shreveport; three brothers, Aswell of Long Beach, Calif., James of La Habra, Calif., and Ray Bowen of Los Angeles; three sisters, Mrs. William Nash and Mrs. L. H. Foley, both of Shreveport, and Mrs. B. H. Light of Downey, Calif.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Rose-Neath Funeral Home.

Rites Are Today For Fred Bowen

Funeral services for Fred Bowen, 46, of 2933 Amelia St., who died at 3:40 p.m. Friday in Veterans Hospital after a long illness, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Bob Anderson, pastor of the Ford Park Baptist Church will officiate, with burial in the Centuries Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Harry Miller, W. O. Marrs, Curtis McDuff, Leo Hogan, Leo Grice and J. M. Crain.
