FORT WORTH - Fred E. Goodman, 89, a retired cafeteria manager, died Saturday in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 7 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Memorials: American Cancer Society.

Mr. Goodman was born Oct. 28, 1907, in DeQueen, Ark. He was a former cafe owner in downtown Fort Worth. He was general manager of a local chain of food establishments. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of Ridglea United Methodist Church.

Survivors: Wife, Betty Goodman of Fort Worth; stepson, Paul Ferrell and wife, Jeanne of Universal City; daughter, Jan Shirley of Decatur, Ga.; grandson, Jeff Shirley of Florida; granddaughter, D-Lynn O'Conner and husband, Tim of Phoenix, Ariz.; step-grandchildren, John Ferrell of Los Altos, Calif., Dianne Ferrell of San Antonio, Paul Ferrell Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Catherine Ferrell of Delmar, Calif.; step-great-grandchildren, Ashley Ferrell, Kristin Ferrell, both of Los Altos, Calif., and great-grandchildren, Shane O'Conner and Jordin O'Conner, both of Phoenix, Ariz.
