NEIMAN, Fred R. of Montrose, age 90, died Monday, May 17, 2010 at Masonic Pathways in Alma.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Saginaw.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-9 p.m. An Eastern Star memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening followed by a Masonic memorial service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Montrose OES #351 General Fund.

Fred was born January 29, 1920 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Fred and Era (Reynolds) Neiman. He had resided in Montrose since 1938. Fred was a chief officer in the U.S. Army for 28 years with wartime service in World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. He was also employed at GM for 32 years, retiring in 1982. Fred had been a member of the Montrose Masonic Lodge #458 since 1954 and became a life member in 2004. He also had served as Past Master of the lodge. Fred was also a member and Past Patron of the Montrose Order of the Eastern Star #351. He had also served as Genesee County Past First Vice President of the OES with Lyene Lenartowicz and Past Grand Patron. Fred was a past president of the Mallet Club and was a member of the Bay City Consistory.

Surviving are special friends: Betty and George Tarrant and Sonja Gross; sister-in-law, Jewell (James) Hudson; one niece, one nephew and cousins.
