Fred M. Walker

Funeral services celebrating the life of Fred M. Walker will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2004 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Travis Glenn officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Walker, 82, of Colfax died Tuesday, January 27, 2004, in Rapides Regional Medical Center.

He was a member of Hudson Creek Baptist Church and was a Psychiatric Aide for Central State Hospital during his working life. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Marie Walker; parents, Andrew and Ella Bardwell Walker; six brothers, three sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, David Walker of Colfax, John Walker of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Freddy Walker of Dry Prong; daughters, Pam Wilkerson of Colfax, and La Dora Cole of Colfax; brother, Ernest Walker of Enumclaw, Washington; twenty-six grandchildren and fifty-seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jody Walker, Jamie Wilkerson, John Walker, Jr., Fredrick Walker, Dennis Cole and Chris Cole.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Walker, Jr., Jerry Wilkerson, Jr., Rodney Walker, Brandon Walker, Scotty Malone and Kenneth Cole, Jr.

Friends may call Friday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 11 a.m., until 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time.
