Fred Wesley Scarborough

Funeral services for Mr. Fred Wesley Scarborough, 74, of Sulphur, will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church of Carlyss. Rev. Steve Shirley will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery, Carlyss.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Carlyss on Thursday, February 25 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and resume on Friday, February 26 from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Scarborough passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in Carlyss.

He was met at the gates of Heaven by his parents, Tolar and Capitola Scarborough; brother, James Scarborough; step-father, Seaborn Breland; two sisters, Margaret Smith and Mary Elizabeth Broadus.

Mr. Scarborough had a tremendous sense of humor and would often say ``Look at the big picture.'' He owned several businesses in the area and his pride was 50 years as the distributor of the Houston Chronicle for the State of Louisiana. He was co-founder as well as a board member of Care/Help of Sulphur and was an active member of Carlyss First Baptist Church. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 19 years, Brenda Scarborough of Carlyss; his son, Cody Jardneaux of Sulphur; three daughters, Sandy Tyler and husband, Don of Humble, Texas, Dina Guillory and Jamie Guillory of Sulphur, Trudi Scarborough-Strahan and J.C. Farlow of Baton Rouge; nine grandchildren, Angela Tyler, Aaron Siller, Donald Tyler, Jr., Kade Guillory, Katherine Strahan, Whitney Guillory, Aydyn Jardneaux, Tyler Farlow and Olivia Farlow; two great grandchildren, Asher Malone and Zachery Malone; sister, Anna Ruth Rouse of Washington DC; and brother, Chester Scarborough, of Wiggins, Miss. Special to his heart is Sandy Schexnailder, Roy Siller, Henry Belsha, and Rodney Owens, along with a host of other family and friends.
