Freddie Bernice Sanders

Freddie Bernice Sanders, 81, of Ellisville, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at Covington County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville, with burial in Ellisville Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Shannon will officiate.

A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, she retired as a special education teacher with the Jones County Schools. She was a member of Ellisville First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Sanders; parents, Felix and Edith Buckelew Hammack; two brothers, Felix Hammack and Carl Hammack; and a sister, Joyce Smith.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight and Maria Sanders and Erle and Kim Sanders, all of Ellisville, and Billy and Joyce Sanders of Ovett; a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Terry Buckhault of Ellisville; a brother and sister-in-law, Carol ``Preacher'' and Betty Hammack of Lady Lake, Fla.; a sister, Carolyn Higgason of Hattiesburg; two sisters-in-law, Lynn Hammack of Cleveland and Dot Blackledge of Aberdeen; a brother-in-law, J.C. Smith of Motoaca, Va.; 24 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Ledet, Craig Sumrall, Mike Clark, Wesley McCoy, Nate Moseley, Damen Iosty and Jeff Williams.

Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. today, at Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville, which is in charge of arrangements.
