Frederick Dale King
Frederick Dale King, a beloved husband, son, father, brother, grandfather and uncle, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013. Freddie, as he was affectionatley called by family and friends, had suffered with leukemia for several years. He was born September 23, 1947 in Bay Springs, Mississippi. A graduate of Pascagoula High School, Freddie later completed two years at Mobile Trade School in Mobile, Alabama. Upon completion of trade school, Freddie was employed in a 4-year apprenticeship at Ingalls. He was employed by Chevron Refinary in Pascagoula, where he retired. He is a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of East Central Country Club in Hurley, MS. Freddie also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and visiting with his brother, friends and fellow retirees over coffee at Market Street McDonald's in Pascagoula. A loving and devoted grandfather, Freddie could often be found at his grandchildren Tristan's and Gavin's soccer games, at a school play, or breakfast on Grandparent's day.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lucile Laverne King, his son Frederick Scott King, his father-in-law Robert Edward Holt, his mother-in-law Wilma Frances Holt, and his sister-in-law Melody Holt Dudeck.
Freddie is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Janice King, son Travis Edward King, father, Travis King; brother James Robert (Jean) King, Grandchildren Tristan and Gavin Davis, Nolan and Layton King, sister-in-law Barbara (Roger) Nichols, sister-in-law Carole Ann Ruiz, and numerous neices, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be Monday, January 7, 2013 from 12 noon until 2pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home of Moss Point, MS. Funeral services will follow at 2pm from the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Sam Jones officiating. Interment will be in Serene Memorial Gardens.
