LAST RITES FOR F. BROWN WHITTINGTON

Fredrick Brown Whittington, 92, a native of Amite County, died Sunday, August 3 at his son's residence in Atlanta.

Services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 6 at Magnolia Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Carl W. Coker officiated, and burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.

Mr. Whittington was born June 25, 1894 in Amite County, the son of Ransom Pickett Whittington and Emma Mercer Whittington. He was a wholesale grocer for many years and a feed, flour and seed broker. He was a member of Magnolia Presbyterian Church and a Mason, Shriner and veteran of the World War I.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Zita Holmes Whittington.

Survivors include his son, Dr. F. Brown Whittington, Jr., of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Marjorie Ann (Penny) Babington, also of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Fredrick Brown Whittington III, of Oxford, Lisa Anne Whittington, of Wellesley, Mass. and Marjorie Ellen Whittington.
