Galen D. “Pete” Peterson
March 24, 1944 - May 4, 2016

BURDICK - Galen D. “Pete” Peterson, 72, Galen Douglas Peterson, died early Wednesday morning, May 4th, 2016, at the St. Luke Hospital in Marion. He was born in Lost Springs on March 24th, 1944, the son of Norman F. and Edna A. (Rindt) Peterson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 9th, 2016, at the Hebron Lutheran Church, Burdick, with Pastor Bill Peterson, officiating. Burial will follow at the Hebron Lutheran Cemetery. A family visitation will be Sunday evening at the Hebron Lutheran Church at 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm.

Mr. Peterson was a cattle rancher. Recently, he worked at the pinning board at the Sale Barn. He owned and operated the Herington Sale Barn from 1985 to 1993. He was a life time member of the Emporia Lodge, A.F. & A.M. He was an active member of the Hebron Lutheran Church serving on the church council and the church cemetery board. He was a graduate of Centre High School with the class of 1962.

He was preceded in death by his father in Dec. 2003, and his mother in Sept. 2004.

He married Janis T. Taylor on October 23, 1993, at Shreveport, LA. She survives of the home in Burdick. He is survived by a son Ty Peterson and his wife Amber, and their children; Tanner, Austin, and Kyle of Tampa, a daughter Trisha Ohnemiller and her husband Rick, and their children; Jaden and Tessa of Caldwell, and a sister Gloria Martin of Herington.

The family requests memorials to the Hebron Lutheran Church; and they may be sent in care of the Zeiner Funeral Home-Herington Chapel, 404 S. Broadway, Herington, KS 67449-3038.
