Funeral Held For G. M. Hair, Retired Planter

Funeral services for Garfield M. Hair, 75-year-old retired planter, were held today at 10 a.m. at the Mulhearn funeral chapel, with Rev. C. Roger Johnson officiating.

The remains are o be carried to the Harrisonburg First Baptist Church for services at 2 p.m. today. Rev. Paul Brooks, of Mangham, will officiate. Burial will be in the Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Hair is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Baker Hair, of Monroe; one son, James W. Hair, of Beaumont, Tex. Three daughters, Mrs. Grady Smith of Sterlington; Mrs. Pat Pattison, of Monroe and Mrs. Jack Parmer, of Monroe; four grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Bertha Ezell, of Jena, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Hair was born at Jena and for years was a prominent planter at Harrisonburg. Upon his retirement nine years ago he moved to Monroe where he was a member of the Central Baptist church.

Pallbearers were Jack Parmer, Edward Parmer, Aubrey Solomon, Joe McGee, Emmett Head and Roy Sikes. Honorary Pallbearers will be all friends of the family.
