HATTIESBURG -- Services are 10 a.m. today at Jones and Son Funeral Home for Gavin ``Joe'' Walley, 89, of Hattiesburg, who died Nov. 13, 2009, at his home.
Burial is in Sunset Cemetery.
Mr. Walley was chairman of the Better Business Bureau of Laurel and the owner-operator of five fabric stores in Laurel, Petal, Demopolis, Ala., and Warner Robins, Ga. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Richton.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Walley of Hattiesburg; a son, Richard ``Dickie'' Walley of Gainesville, Ga.; a stepson, Keith Carson of Monticello; a daughter, Linda Jo Lewis of Greensboro, N.C.; three stepdaughters, Joyce Martin of Prentiss, Francis Hull of Coco, Fla., and Brenda Wood of Sumrall; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Gavin ``Joe'' Walley, 89, of Hattiesburg, died Friday, November 13, 2009, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 16, at Jones & Son Chapel in Richton with burial in Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
He was chairman of the Better Business Bureau of Laurel, deacon of First Baptist Church of Richton, and owner/operator of five fabric stores located in Laurel, Petal, Warner Robins, Ga., and Demopolis, Ala. He was born and raised in Richton, and was a resident of Laurel for about 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Greenwood Walley.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Jean Walley; daughter, Linda Joe Lewis of Greensboro, N.C.; son, Richard ``Dickie'' Walley of Gainesville, Ga.; three step-daughters, Joyce Martin of Prentiss, Francis Hull of Coco, Fla., and Brenda Wood of Sumrall; step-son, Keith Carson of Monticello; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
