GEAN HOLCOMB
Funeral for Gean Holcomb, 72, of Alto was at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Alto First Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Kendrick and Rev. Gary Pridmore officiating. Burial was in the Alto City Cemetery.
Mr. Holcomb died April 8. He was born Aug. 28. 1937, in Rosenburg to AudIie 0. and Mary Roper (Doll) Holcomb. Mr. Holcomb had lived in Alto for the last 32 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He lived in the Houston area for many years where he worked for Southwestern Bell and AT&T before retiring after 33 years of service. He owned and operated Cherokee Tele-Communications for 14 years in Alto. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Holcomb of Alto; sons and daughters-in-law, Brett and Nelda Holcomb and Ed and Julie Holcomb, all of Alto, Robert and Courtney Holcomb of Whitehouse; daughters and son-in-law, Holly Massey of California, Tracy and John Bjornson of Alto; a sister, Mary Jane Coleman of Magnolia; 14 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren.
Pallbearers were Trevor Hagerty, Zac Holcomb, Josh Holcomb, Eric Faulk, Peter Faulk and Erik Esser. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Esser & Kelly Holcomb.
Contributions to the Gean Holcomb Memorial Scholarship Fund may be made to Bancorp South in Alto.
