Graveside rites at Poplarville for Geddie Fredy

POPLARVILLE -- Graveside services were held in Forrest [sic Forest] Lawn Memorial Park of Geddie H. Fredy, Sr., who died in Birmingham July 20. Rev. Jessie Broadus officiated.

Mr. Fredy was born in Taylorsville on Feb. 11, 1898 and had taught in the Industrial Training School in Columbia, the Buck Branch and Progress High Schools in Pearl River County and was an instructor in drafting and structural design in the Bessemer State and Trade School, Bessemer, Ala. He was a member of the East Lake Masonic Lodge and the Zamora Shrine Temple in Birmingham, where he had lived since 1941.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Margie Fredy and one son, G. H. Fredy, Jr., of Los Angeles, Calif.

Pallbearers were Odis Myrick, Lloyd Davis, Curtis Rester, Edward Lee, Jim Dever and Wade O. Smith.

Jenkins Funeral Home was in charge.
