Gene W. Parker
Funeral service for Gene W. Parker will be held 10 AM Monday, April 18, 2011 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Dr. Calvin Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Emmanuel Cemetery at Chopin, La. with military graveside rites. Visitation will be Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 1 PM until 9 PM and on Monday, April 18, 2011 from 8 Am until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Parker, 62, of Natchitoches, La., died Friday, April 15, 2011, at Overton Brooks V A Medical Center in Shreveport, La.
He was a native [of] Mansfield, La. He was a Sales Supervisor for National Motor Club. He was a Baptist. He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars, American Legion. He was a veteran of The Vietnam Conflict serving in the U. S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Wilson Parker, Sr. and Mary Gloria Bynog Parker; four brothers, Roy Joe Parker, Leonard Herman Parker, Horace Joseph Parker, J. W. Parker, Jr.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Ann Venable Parker; two daughters, Stephanie Dobson and Samantha Parker both of Natchitoches, La.; one son, Kevin Parker of Natchitoches, La.; four grandchildren, Jace Parker, Katherine Parker, Payton Dobson, and Sophie Dobson; one sister, Earlene Boudloche aned husband Huey of Toledo Bend, La.; two brothers, Jessie J. Parker and wife Gilda and Ray M. Parker and wife Verline all of Natchitoches, La.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Basco, Jason Parker, Edward Taylor, Larry Howell, Justin Graves, Bradley McDonald, Kolt Kays, and James Parker.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Currie, Kevin Harris, Joey Longlois, Stanley McDonald, Steven Parker, and Chris Parker.
Memorials may be made to: Department of Veteran Affairs Homeless Veterans thru the local V.F.W. Chapter.
