Geneva M. Maples

Dec. 13, 1938 -- April 18, 2000

VIDALIA, La. -- Services for Geneva M. Maples, 61, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, April 18, 2000, in Alexandria, will be at 2 p.m. today at Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Ronald Hall and C.T. Hanchey officiating.

Burial will be at Huffman Cemetery in Manifest, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Visitation will be until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Maples was born Dec. 13, 1938, in Catahoula Parish. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church.

Mrs. Maples was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Maples; a daughter, Angela Stone; and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen N. Montpelier.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Lacy T. Byrnes of Ferriday; a daughter and her husband, Deborah ``Sissy'' and Donnie Byrnes of Ferriday; one brother and his wife, Oscar and Joanne Montpelier of Vidalia; her church family; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Lloyd Montpelier, James Lofton Jr., Elliot Mock, Henson Montpelier, Jack Gallup, Lionel Montpelier, Robert Maples and Johnny Maples Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Hall, Greg Cupit, Richard Peters, Bill Griffing, Tito Massa and Barry Tarver.
