Last Rites Held Saturday For Mrs. Geneva Smith, 44
Funeral services for Mrs. Geneva Smith, 44, were held Saturday. She died in a local hospital Thursday night after an illness of about one year.
Last rites were in a Shreveport Baptist Church of which she was a member, with burial in Centuries Memorial Cemetery, Shreveport. Elder Willie Blackman conducted the funeral.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Winnfield and had made her home in Shreveport for the past four years.
Survivors are her husband, Judge L. Smith of Shreveport, two daughters, Mrs. Carmal [sic Carmel] Wright and Miss Lois Ada Smith; two sons, A. U. Smith and Eugene Smith, all of Shreveport; two brothers, James Aaron Taylor and Armon Paul Taylor, both of Shreveport; four sisters, Mrs. Alaphair Wilkerson of Joyce, Mrs. Ethel Kelly of Minden, Mrs. Bertha Tarver of Pineville, and Mrs. Willa [sic Willie] Mae Jordan of Winnfield, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included James Austin Jordan of Winnfield, Rudolph Welch of Shreveport, and members of her church.
