Geneva W. Mitchell
Geneva W. Mitchell, 85, a resident of Liberty Community Living Center, died there Feb 9, 2008.
Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb, then 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pisgah United Methodist Church until services there at 11 a.m. The Rev. Larry Wallace will officiate, and burial will be in Jacobs Cemetery in Amite County.
Mrs. Mitchell was born June 11, 1922, in Mississippi, to Paul and Lula Etheridge Whittington.
She was a lifelong member of Pisgah UMC, where she participated in the 50-Plus Club.
She also was a talented seamstress and worked for many years at Beautiful Brides.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward H. Mitchell; a daughter, Peggy Wroten; and a son, Daniel Mitchell.
Survivors include four sons, Hollis Mitchell, Floyd Mitchell and Burt Wroten, all of Smithdale, and M.L. Wroten of McComb; her grandsons and their spouses, Danny and Cora Mitchell, Edward H. and Angie Mitchell, Jim Mitchell, and Floyd Mitchell; her granddaughters and their spouses, Kim and Mark Thornhill, Carolyn Forman, Peggy and Kelvin Carter, Christine Addison and Melisa Smith; her great-grandchildren, Brandon Carter, Dustin Allen, Blake Brandon, and Ginger Diggs; her great- great-grandchildren, Cylas Allen, Alexis Allen, Airwen Teipalke, Destiny Teipalke, Shanna Diggs, Kambiel Brandon, Oberon Brandon, Milika Brandon, Jonathon Brandon, Shawn and Astra Brandon, and Crystal Brandon.
Pallbearers will be Kelvin Carter, Chris Kyzar, Jeremy Caraway, Richie Fulham, Scott King and Edward Moran. Honorary pallbearers are Angie Brandon, Brandon Carter and Thomas Fenn.
