George A. Floyd Succumbs Sunday

TURKEY CREEK -- Military graveside rites were held at the National Cemetery in Pineville for George Augustus Floyd, 62, who died Sunday at 11:45 a.m. at his home in Turkey Creek.

A native of Mississippi, Floyd was a veteran of World War I. He was employed until his death as an electrician at the Griffin Hill gravel pit near here. He hoved [sic moved] here over 20 years ago.

He is survived by his widow, the former Elizabeth Moore, also a native of Mississippi.

Ardoin's Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
