Memorial Services for George G. “Pete” Dunn, 81, of Monroe, LA will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Mr. Harold Allbritton officiating. Interment will be held at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Mr. Dunn was born on August 14, 1930 in Olla, LA and passed away on July 10, 2012 in Monroe, LA. He was a retired lead operator from Riverwood Plant 70. George served in the Air Force in Japan during the Korean War. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved watching ULM baseball games. George was a member of the American Legion Post 13 and a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Hebert, LA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marwood and Willie Ruth Dunn; and brother, Grover Dunn.
George is survived by his daughters, Lori D. Marshall and husband Lt. Colonel Jim Marshall of Edinboro, PA, Andrea Lowery of West Monroe, LA, and Lydia Dunn of Swartz, LA; 2 grandchildren, Tyler Marshall of Denton, TX, and Kelsey Jones of West Monroe, LA; brother, Delma D. Dunn of Prairie Grove, AR; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until service time Saturday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
The family would like to thank the staff at the NELA War Veterans Home for the care of Mr. Dunn and special friend, Tommie Tyler for her love and support over the past 2 years.
