Services for G. D. Spradley Held Saturday
Final rites were held at the family residence at 2 p.m. Saturday for George Dolphard Spradley, 82, who died at his home in the Reeves community Friday.
Mr. Spradley was a native of Panola County, born Sept. 23, 1880. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.
Ministers for the service were Rev. William Hitt, the Rev. Otto Robertson, and the Rev. Leonard Milford.
Burial was in the Adams Cemetery with the Hawthorn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements, and with Johnny, Ellis Ray, Guy, Carl, and Conway Spradley, James Pyle, Garth LaGrone, and Wayne Scales as pallbearers.
Surviving are the following relatives, all of Reeves except one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter of Angleton: His wife, Mrs. Iva Spradley; one son, Joe Spradley; two grandchildren, Mrs. Bob Spradley of Reeves and Mrs. James E. Rhodes, Angleton, Texas and one great-granddaughter, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes; and two brothers, John and Horace Spradley.
