George W. Holloway, 59, of Route 9, died Sept. 6 at Oschner Medical Center in New Orleans, La., after a brief illness.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Springhill Cemetery. The Revs. Burt Pitts and Gerald Sawyer will officiate.
He was the retired assistant business agent for local No. 1529 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and he was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by his widow, Eunice Wells Holloway of Laurel; sons, Burnice Burger and James Burger, both of Laurel, and Billy Harold Burger of Raleigh; daughters, Mary Katherine Herrin of Houston, Texas, and Grace Helen Blakeney of Bay City, Texas; brothers, Rod Holloway, Newton Holloway and Homer Holloway, all of Laurel, and Lester Holloway of Lucerene [sic Lucerne] Valley, Calif.; a sister, Willie V. Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas; 32 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Trent Holloway, Joe Holloway, Glenn Holloway, Frank Drennan, Pat Drennan and Don Kittrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Crhis [sic Chris] Drennan and Keith Rodgers.
Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
