George J. Ford

JONESBORO -- Funeral services for George J. Ford, 77, of Jonesboro were to be held at 2 p.m. today in Friendship Baptist Church near Sikes with the Rev. Willie James and the Rev. Jack Head officiating.

Burial was to be in the church cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Mr. Ford died at 8 a.m. Wednesday in Jackson Parish Hospital here after a long illness.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nettie Ford of Jonesboro; one stepson, Bobby Tolar of Jonesboro; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Emma Jean Simmons of Monroe; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
