Man Killed In Wisner, Buried at Sardis Tuesday

George Lee Whittington, 44, farmer of near Wisner, La., who was killed last Saturday as he came out of a movie, was buried in the Sardis Cemetery, Winn Parish, Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. W. C. Bounds and Rev. C. M. Robinson, officiating.

According to reports, Whittington was attacked by Nolan ``Sugar'' Barlow, and was knocked down by his assailant and his head struck the bumper of an automobile. He died of a broken neck. The violence was attributed to domestic troubles. Both men resided on Route 1, Wisner.

Whittington is survived by his wife, of Wisner, the former Letha Evans of Atlanta; one daughter, Linda Doris; five sons.
