Oakland Resident Ends Life With Gun

Charleston -- (Special) -- George Manley, 38, who shot himself through the temple at his home three miles south of Oakland Tuesday morning, died in the hospital here Tuesday night.

The shooting occurred at the home of his mother in law, Mrs. Mary Clark, with whom he and his family made their home. Hearing a shot, his wife ran to the shed back of the house and found her husband unconscious with a 25 caliber rifle nearby. Members of the family said they knew of no reasons why Manley took his own life.

He leaves his widow, four children, Opal, Edna, Iven and Buddy, and his stepfather, Joe Hayes.
