George McCants

MONTCLAIR -- George W. McCants of 4643 Fauna St., died Thursday in a local convalescent hospital.

Mr. McCants was born March 10, 1907 in Caldwell, Kan., moved to California in 1952 from Clayton, N.M., and had lived in Torrance prior to coming to Monclair in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Besides his widow, Nordessa, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Crowe of Montclair, Mrs. Betty June Meier of San Pedro and Mrs. Patricia Fehlman of Alta Loma; three sons, Robert and George, both of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jerry Bolt of Anaheim; three brothers, Arthur, Marvin and James, all of Albuquerque, N.M.; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Flowers and Mrs. Juanita Maxfield, both of Albuquerque, and Mrs. Carrie Vaus of Sherman Oaks; and 16 grandchildren.

Services will be held in Todd Memorial Chapel Pomona, Monday at 1:30 p.m. Dr. Paul F. Huebner of Claremont will officiate. Burial will be made in Pomona Cemetery.
