George McKaskle

George ``Mac'' McKaskle, age 84, passed away May 20, 2009, at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan.

He was born October 8, 1924, in Winnsboro, Louisiana, and had been an area resident since 1964.

George served for 20 years in the United States Army and then was the owner and operator of DK Donuts in Manhattan for many years.

George was a member and past Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1786, and was a member of the 40 & 8, American Legion and the Eagles.

He was married to Alda Mae Small in January of 1956. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2000. He married Donna J. Lundquist on October 15, 2000 in Manhattan. Donna survives of the home. Additional survivors include one son, Jimmy Dale McKaskle and his wife Gaye of Leesville, LA; one daughter, Patricia Gullotine and her husband Leo of Denton, TX; one sister, Rubye Darby of Dayton, TX; one brother, Charles Ray McKaskle and his wife Barbara of Baton Rouge, LA; four step children: Rick Lundquist and his wife Glenda of Weatherford, TX, Tammy Schlosser and her husband Jim of Herington, KS, Brad Lundquist and his wife Alvina of Colorado springs, CO, and Guy Lundquist and his wife Teresa of Topeka, KS; many grandchildren including Ashley, Conner and Amelia; and many great grandchildren.

George was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 27th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home with Pastor Clarence Sumner officiating. Interment will follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens Cemetery east of Manhattan.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 26th, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family through the funeral home website at www.ymlfuneralhome.com.
