George Peyton
JENA -- George Oscar Peyton, 83, died Tuesday [sic Monday] in Alexandria.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Ed Snell officiating. Burial in Nolley Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Kenner and Stevens Funeral Home.
He is survived by his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Jean Porter of Fort Worth, Tex., Mrs. Emma Kathrine Day of Elizabethtown, Ky. and Mrs. Gloria Cupples of Jena; three sons, Glenn Oscar Peyton of Biloxi, Miss., George Paul Peyton of Jena and John Ray Peyton of Lafayette; seven sisters, Mrs. Maggie McGuffie of Grayson, Mrs. Jessie Frits of New Jersey, Mrs. Nellie Chapman, Mrs. Myrtle Hodges and Mrs. Mildred Smith all of Jena, Mrs. Inez Clayton of Houston, Tex. and Mrs. Katie Bush of Daingerfield, Tex.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
