G.P. Prendergast

George P. Prendergast, 67, of 4316 Avenue R, died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home, the Rev. Don Duran officiating. Burial in Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

Mr. Prendergast was born Oct. 9, 1906 in Galveston. He was retired from Todd Shipyards. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles Aerie 48 and was a member of Central United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beulah B. Prendergast of Galveston; two sons, George M. Prendergast of Galveston and George Menot of Ohio; two daughters, Miss Patricia Ann Prendergast of Galveston and Mrs. Betsy Scanlan of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, F.M. Prendergast of Galveston and Louis A. Prendergast of Houston; three sisters, Elizabeth Shirer and Rosemary Carpenter, both of San Antonio and Daisy Sweeney of Houston; and five grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society and to the Sunshine Training Center in Galveston.

Pallbearers will be Sunny Kirkendall, Ruben Byrd, R.F. Jansen, Al Case, Ben Fontille and Louis Gabriles.
