Uncle George Pepper, 80, Found Dead July 4th

Funeral services for Uncle George Pepper, 80, of Sikes, who was found dead in his yard on July 4th, by a neighbor, were held at Hebron on July 5. The parish coroner reported death was due to heart failure. Mr. Pepper, who lived alone, had been in failing health several months. He had walked to town the day before his death.

Surviving are four sons, Jimmy and Winfred Pepper of Sikes, Kendred of Pineville, and Edwin of Franklin Parish; four daughers, Miss Nancy Pepper, Mrs. Florence Bennett, Mrs. Martha Ann Mayes, and Mrs. Carrie Crain; two brothers, Z. Z. Pepper of Jonesboro and one sister, Mrs. J. F. W. Sikes of Sikes.
