GEORGE SCHWEERS
Mr. George Schweers, a lifelong resident of Medina County and a retired farmer-rancher, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 1968 at his home near Hondo. He was a member of the New Fountain Methodist Church whose pastor, the Rev. L. D. Dubberly conducted his funeral services last Saturday afternoon.
Survivors include a foster daughter, Miss Hazel Schweers of Hondo; two stepsons, J. M. and Finis Prescott, both of Hondo; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Cascile Weeden of Turlock, California; Mrs. Mavis Stockbridge and Mrs. Emory of Hondo and Mrs. Hazel Clark of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Also surviving Mr. Schweers are three brothers, Hugo and Marvin Schweers of Hondo and Leo Schweers of Del Rio; and one sister, Mrs. Emil Riff of Hondo.
Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery, direction of Hurley Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Joe Martin, Glenn Schweers, James O. Riff, Emmett Beard, Ed Fletcher and Jim Stockbridge.
