George W. Smoke Dies At Home

George W. Smoke, 69, 4315 I., died at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his residence following an illness of about two years.

Mr. Smoke was born March 22, 1870. He worked with the Southern Pacific Railroad for 33 years as stationary engineer until his retirement in September, 1937.

He was a member of Tucker Lodge No. 297, A. F. and A. M. Scottish Rite bodies and El Mina Shrine Temple.

Surviving are: One son, W. G. Smoke; a granddaughter, Betty Lou Smoke; and a brother, H. D. Smoke, all of Galveston.

Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the residence with Rev. H. L. Chowins, rector of Grace Episcopal Church, officiating and at Lakeview Cemetery with the Masons officiating. J. Levy & Bro. will be in charge of interment.
