George R. Wilkerson
George R. Wilkerson, 81, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005. George moved to Highlands in 1945. He was released from the Army in December of 1944, then served as a hospital orderly. He went to work for Humble Oil and Refining in 1945 and retired in 1980. He worked as a master electrician for years. George was an active member at 1st Baptist church in Highlands where he was a long time member. He enjoyed fishing, playing softball and going to church.
George is preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Oline Wilkerson of Highlands, TX.; Son and daughter-in-law, George and Karen Wilkerson of Crosby, TX.; Daughter, Deborah Hall of Highlands, TX.; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Glen Futch of Winnfield, LA. And Faye and L.B. Bemont of Winnfield, LA.; 3 grandchildren and spouses, Michael and Leslie Wilkerson of Baytown, TX., Jennifer and Scott Willingham of Barbers Hill, TX. and Tiffany Hopkins and Gilbert of Highlands, TX.; Great-grandchildren, Brittany and Priscilla Hopkins and Lauren and Brooke Willingham;
Numerous nieces, nephews and host of friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 14, 2005, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Earthman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Earthman Funeral Home with Brother Tim Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery 8624 Garth Road Baytown, TX. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
