George W. Brannon
retired measurement engineer

George W. Brannon, 83, of Arbor Vista Boulevard, a retired measurement engineer, died of heart failure Friday at Mississippi State Veterans Nursing Home.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Brannon was a lifelong Jackson resident. He had worked for Mississippi Valley Gas Co. for more than 32 years. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He was a University of Alabama graduate and a World War II veteran. He played semi-pro baseball and was an avid baseball fan.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah.
