BUTLER MAN KILLS HIMSELF
BUTLER, May 19. -- Mr. George W. Fountain, a prominent citizen of Butler, committed suicide yesterday morning by shooting himself in the left breast, the discharge entering the heart, producing instant death.
Mr. Fountain possessed a jovial, happy disposition, but for the last day or two seemed rather despondent. A short while before the rash act he went to his home from town, which is only a short distance, told his wife that he came to get some papers. He then, unobserved, went to a barn in the rear of his home and fired the fatal shot, and was dead when reached by members of the family.
Mr. Fountain was 42 years old. He leaves a widowed mother, three brothers and three sisters.
