George William McCarty
1950 - 2018

George William McCarty was born February 8, 1950 to the union of Frellsen and Ava Gray McCarty in Monroe and he passed from this life on December 26, 2018 at his residence.George knew from the time he was in 7th grade that he wanted to be a photographer. Upon graduating from Neville in 1968, he attended the prestigous Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA.

He then moved back to Monroe and opened George McCarty Photography in a small rented space from Bob Sale's, which was the original McCarty family home. In 1981, he opened Quick Print Photo and specialized in printing and photo restoration. George will be remembered for being kind, courteous and generous; a true Southern Gentleman. He always had a smile and went out of his way to speak to people. George was the happiest with a camera in his hand. He continued to study photography both in the U.S. and Provence, France. And he loved Paris like his Mother did! He cherished Vicky his precious wife of 37 years and his family and visited with his sister everyday as she drove home from work. George loved Hallmark movies, Diet Coke and looked forward to receiving a daily text from friend Heather about her amazingly smart 2 year old. His favorite meal was steak & baked potato with a Dirty Martini at Trios.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife: Vicky Crawford McCarty of Monroe; son: Craig McCarty and wife Cassie of Flower Mound, TX; daughter: Jackie McCarty of Baton Rouge; brother: Denver McCarty and wife Judy of Corinth, TX; sister: Mary Sue McCarty of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren: Ava Marie McCarty of Monroe and Savannah McCarty of Virginia Beach,VA .

A graveside service will be held on January 5th at 11:00am at the Old Catahoula Cemetary in Enterprise, LA.
