Georgia Duffek was born March 10, 1931, in Mississippi. Along with raising numerous people and keeping us all posted as to what was going on in one another's lives, she played the role of nursemaid, caregiver and chef to all. Through her creativity she loved to sew, quilt, cook and garden. It was rare that anyone would walk into the Duffek home without being offered an assortment of food, including her famous potato salad, coconut cream pie and lemon bars. And what a treat among treats if you walked in on the opening of the pickles she had jarred.

Survivors: Brother, Joe McDaniel; sisters, Idell Mayfield, La Venia Scherer, Joann Peters and Sylvia Rogers. Georgia was a mother of seven children, Edward, Beverly, Patricia, Donald, Debbie, Gary and Sherry. She had 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
