Services for Georgia McCarty Lawrence, 61, of Monroe will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 21, 2004, in Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. John Langham officiating. Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM in Hurricane Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Sikes, LA, with Rev. Wallace Ingles officiating.
Georgia died Thursday, August 19, 2004, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center following an eleven year battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira L. and Lois Gregory McCarty and grandmother, Carrie Gregory.
Georgia had resided in Monroe since 1976. She was a graduate of Sikes High School, attended LA Tech, and was last employed at Glenwood Home Health. She was a member of Graceminster Presbyterian Church and the Circle of Friends Cancer Support Center. She really valued the relationship with her friends, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Robert Cloud and his wife Rosa of Calhoun; daughter, Mary Fowler Jester and her husband Robbie of Monroe; grandchildren, Brittney and Jacob Cloud of Calhoun and Tyler and Tiffany Jester of Monroe; aunts, Marie Haddox of Columbia and Opal McAlpin of Atlanta, GA; and uncles, Elton Gregory and Clayton Gregory of Marion.
Pallbearers will be Glen Haddox, Don Crow, Phillip Campbell, Rodney Griffin, Joe Avant, and Robbie Dean Jester.
Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Campbell and Ray Shell.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, August 20, 2004, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
