Mrs. Georgia Rugg, Native of Texas

Mrs. Georgia Smith Rugg, 64, of 602 East Second, widow of Eli V. Rugg, a retired Cotton Belt fireman, died at 8:10 this morning at Davis Hospital. She had been in declining health for several years.

A native of Lufkin, Tex., she was born Nov. 17, 1894, daughter of the late E. O. and Ella B. Smith.

Mrs. Rugg attended schools in Texas and was married to Mr. Rugg on March 2, 1913, in Savalla, Tex.

The couple lived in Lufkin until moving to Pine Bluff in 1918. Mr. Rugg died April 10, 1954.

Mrs. Rugg was a member of the Hawley Memorial Methodist Church and the Women's Society of Christian Service and was a former member of the church's official Board.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. E. R. Simmons of Pine Bluff; two foster daughters, Mrs. Richard Russ of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Mrs. Louis Pettizona of Springfield, Mass.; one sister, Mrs. B. A. Beard of Nacogdoches, Tex.; one half-brother, W. D. Watson of Baytown, Tex.; and one grandson, Van Simmons of Pine Bluff.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. at Ralph Robinson and Son Mortuary by the Rev. George E. Reutz, pastor of Hawley Memorial Methodist Church, and the Rev. John B. Hefley, pastor of Lakeside Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Rugg is at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Simmons, 2004 West 34th. ________________________________________________

Funeral services for Mrs. Georgia Rugg, 64, of 602 East Second, who died yesterday at Davis Hospital, were held this afternoon at Ralph Robinson and Son Mortuary by the Rev. George E. Reutz, pastor of Hawley Memorial Methodist Church, and the Rev. John B. Hefley, pastor of Lakeside Methodist Church.

Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were C. R. Leggett, F. E. Pierce, John Hooker, Ersel Carter, Cecil Hoan, Leslie Helvey, George Riley, Doug Brassell and R. H. Patterson.

Friends of Mrs. Rugg's grandson, Van Simmons, served as honorary pallbearers.
