GERALD NATHAN MCCARTY

Services for Gerald Nathan McCarty, 67, of Tyler will be at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 7, 2002 at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel in Tyler. Bro. Dennis Cliborn will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler, Texas.

McCarty died Dec. 5, 2002 in Tyler. He was born Sept. 23, 1935 in Winnsboro, La. He lived in Tyler for 17 years, and was a member of a Baptist church. He worked as a construction manager for Howe-Baker and Petrofac Inc. He was a retired superintendent for Dow Chemical in Freeport.

He was a well loved husband, father and grandfather. He loved playing music and golf. He enjoyed sitting on his back porch playing with his dogs and talking with his wife. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in the Military Police Corps.

Survivors include wife, Rebecca Glee McCarty of Tyler; son, Geary McCarty and wife Rachel of Mesquite; daughters, Kimberly Starr and husband Mike of Lake Jackson, Keely McCarty of Tyler; and Gaylyn McCarty of Dallas; parents, H.B. and Eunice McCarty of West Monroe, La.; brother, Dr. Garland McCarty and wife Barbara of West Monroe, La.; grandson, Michael Peyton Starr; granddaughters, Madison Glee Starr, Lori McCarty and Megan McCarty.

Pallbearers will be James Byrum, Andy Poston, David Lowe, Cary Cole, Gerald Roberts and Bobby Hood.
