Geraldine ``Gerry'' Dykes Nettles
(September 16, 1953 - May 22, 2010)

Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine ``Gerry'' Nettles, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Randy Stevens, Jim Merritt and Dr. John Sams officiating. Interment will be in Dry Prong Cemetery, Dry Prong, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Mrs. Geraldine Dykes Nettles, age 56, of Dry Prong, wife of William Atwood Nettles died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Grace Home Hospice Care in Cabrini Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born September 16, 1953 in Hampton, S.C. She was the daughter of Frannon Hosea and Leddie Pace Dykes of Dry Prong. She was a graduate of Dry Prong High School and attended Northeast College. She worked with the Grant Parish School Board System and with victims of domestic violence through Turning Point.

In addition to her devoted husband and her parents, she is survived by two sons and their wives; Kenneth Andrew and Natalie Bercegeay Nettles of Ball, Benjamin Wayne and Amanda Pitre Nettles of Dry Prong; eight grandchildren Landon Banks of Tioga, Kaden, Konner, Kyleigh and Karson Nettles of Ball, Breanna Nettles, Benjamin (B.J.), Jr. and Justice Eznack Nettles of Dry Prong; one brother, Frannon Hosea (Bubba) Dykes, Jr.; three sisters and their husbands; Tommy and Carrie Dykes Crenshaw of Greenwood, S.C., Don and Janice Dykes Martin, L.C. and Clarice Dykes Hales of Dry Prong; mother-in-law, Julia Lowe Nettles of Dry Prong; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Rhonda Nettles of Bentley, David and Nancy Nettles of Greely, Colorado, Steve and Kathy Alexander of Pineville; special cousin and wife, Wayne and Marsha Pace of Prairieville; very special and dear friend, Debbie Faircloth.

Pallbearers will be Paul Phillips, Tommy Taylor, Bob Browning, Gene Copeland, James Merritt and Brian Woodard.

Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Monday, May 24, 2010 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m.
