Geraldine Crum Watkins

Services for Geraldine Crum Watkins, of Robstown, Texas, are 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at Highway 44 Church of Christ in Robstown with burial in Robstown Memorial Park Cemetery. Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Watkins, 75, died Nov. 7, 2008, at a Corpus Christi hospital. She was born in Bogue Chitto on March 1, 1933, to Ernest and Mattie Laird Johnston.

Mrs. Watkins married Lawrence Crum in 1950 and spent the next 20 years as a preacher's wife. After her husband passed away while serving as minister at Highway 44 Church of Christ, she was employed as a bank teller at State National Bank in Robstown. Later she married W.R. “Pug” Watkins. She was a member of Highway 44 Church of Christ. She loved the Lord and her family.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Lawrence Crum; her husband, W.R. “Pug” Watkins; and a grandson, Quinton Crum.

Survivors are her daughters, Nancy Crum, of Robstown, and Martha Wilks and husband, Darwin, of Grapevine, Texas; a son, David Crum and wife, Amber, of Robstown; a brother, Elwin Johnston, of Bogue Chitto; his six grandchildren, Bobby Hestand and wife, Traci, Jeseph Crum, Brandon Stover, Bobbi Stover, and Jay Walthall and wife, Shannon, and Jill Walthall; a great-grandchild, Adam Hestand; numerous nieces and nephews; and her church family at Highway 44 Church of Christ.
