MONTEREY -- Services for Gertrude Davis, 89, of Monterey, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Monterey Church of Christ with the Rev. Bobby Ensminger and the Rev. Jason Sparks officiating.
Burial will follow at the Holly Grove Cemetery in Wisner, La., under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Ms. Davis was a member of Monterey Church of Christ and loved the Lord with all of her heart. Her favorite pass time was spent reading her Bible. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will surely be missed by all who knew her.
Ms. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Percy L. Davis; her parents, Jack and Rosie Ensminger; one brother, Bob Ensminger; and one sister, Kit DeLaughter.
Survivors include one daughter, Melba Duncan and husband, Greg, of Monterey; two sons, Joey Davis and wife, Sue Ann, and Percy Lee Davis, all of Eclectic, Ala.; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne LaPrairie, Cam Avery, Greg Duncan Jr., Ronnie Duncan, Gary Denton and Jacob LaPrairie.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Monterey Church of Christ NYR Fund or to a charity of choice.
