Gertrude Tyler
Services for Gertrude S. Tyler, 88 of Baskin will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in the Mulhearn Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Marion Collier officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hale Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home-Winnsboro.
Mrs. Gertrude was born on October 24, 1927 in Crowville and passed from this life on August 30, 2016 in Rayville.
She was a member of Pleasant Hale Baptist Church and she attended Union Hill Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years-George Henry Tyler; parents-Julian M. and Ada Wroten Smith; and sister-Julia Merle Leggett.
She is survived by a daughter-Sherry Newsom and husband Kenneth of Hattiesburg, MS; two sons-John “Buddy” Tyler and wife Sandy and George Edward Tyler both of Baskin, LA; four grandchildren-G. Terri Harrell, Tina Newsom, Rebecca Liegh Tyler, and Lauren Elizabeth Tyler; three great grandchildren-Brittany Winstead, Ethan Harrell, and Brayden Newsom; a brother-Donnie Gene Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Steve Williams, Michael Reddick, Melvin Williamson, Larry Jackson, Tim Lord, and Stevie Gray.
Visitation will be 10:00AM until 2:00PM Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in the Mulhearn Chapel.
