Gladys Follis

Gladys Ardell Follis, 92, of Commerce died April 16, 2007. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Delbert Watson officiating. Burial followed in Mount Zion Cemetery.

Daughter of Edward and Tina McCarty Reynolds, she was born April 11, 1915, in Wood County. Retired, she had worked at Piggly Wiggly and at the Commerce Elementary School. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch and gardening. Up to a month ago she was able to drive herself to take care of paying bills and taking care of any other personal business.

Surviving are a sister, Louise Sanders; nieces and nephews Betty Holly, Nita Ivie, Freda Kerns, Frank Follis, Patricia Kindle, Jerry Funderburk, Remonia Davis, Chip Follis, Bill Follis, Jane Henson, Sonya Dickson, Glenda Wolf, Mike Stanley, Lee Follis, Thomas Mahan, Barbara Rutherford, Glenna Claridge; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marcus ``Mark'' Boyd Follis; a brother, Clyde Reynolds; sister Lottie Holly; nephews Larry Holly, Lee Reynolds, Larry Stanley and Dan Follis; and nieces Judy Ogden and R'Veda Kauffman.

Family and friends were pallbearers.
