Gladys Johnson Flurry
Gladys Johnson Flurry, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at her home in Daisy Vestry, MS. She was born May 19, 1918 in Harrison County, MS.
Survivors include four children - Sherry Maples of Gulfport, MS, Don Flurry of Daisy Vestry, MS, Rita (Bob) Kirkwood of Jacksonville, FL, and Judy Olson of Diamondhead, MS; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Hattie Davis of Sumrall, MS, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Flurry, parents, Florian and Nancy Josephine Johnson; four sisters, Bonnie Mallett, Thelma Mallett, Ineita Calcote, and Alberta Bush, and seven half-sisters and half-brothers.
A celebration of Gladys' life will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at 11 AM at Red Creek Union Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to your favorite charity.
George County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
