Mrs. Gladys Delk of Smith County Taken by Death

Mrs. Gladys Ware Delk, age 23 years, of Smith county, died in a local hospital at 8:30 a. m. Friday after an illness of six weeks.

The funeral will be held in Liberty Baptist church near Taylorsville at 10 a. m. Saturday with Rev. J. A. Ford of Taylorsville officiating. Interment will be in the churchyard cemetery.

This lovable young matron was well known in Jones and Smith counties. She was the youngest daughter of Rev. C. N. Ware, Baptist minister living near Taylorsville. The deceased was born and reared in Smith county where she was residing at the time of her death. She will be missed by her countless friends in the community and her co-workers in the church.

Mrs. Delk is survived by her husband, Truman Delk, and two children: Charles William and Ruby Gay. She is also survived by her father, five brothers and two sisters. The brothers are: Willie, Ford and Charles D. Ware, Taylorsville and J. T. and Claud Newton Ware, Horton, Alabama. The sisters are: Mrs. J. L. Odom, Taylorsville, and Mrs. S. H. Swetman, Laurel.
